David Wilson Homes is proposing to develop land east of Grove to deliver around 300 new homes alongside associated open spaces and landscaping.
In March 2022, an outline planning application for the proposed development was submitted to The Vale of White Horse District Council (application reference P22/V0550/O), seeking permission for the following:
“Outline planning application (with all matters reserved except for access into the site) for up to 300 dwellings and provision of public open space including associated landscape planting with associated infrastructure, drainage measures and earthworks and all other associated works.”
In July 2022, the council refused to grant planning permission and in November 2022 an appeal was made to the Planning Inspectorate under Section 78(2) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) against the council’s decision.
Following the Council’s refusal of the planning application, the appellant proposes to make some amendments to the proposals including a new framework plan and landscape plan which, whilst being consistent with the application details, present the information in a different way. The appellant has also prepared two new parameter plans which provide greater articulation of the proposals without changing the definition of the development – these include a density parameter plan and a height parameter plan.
In accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2015 (as amended) representations are invited on the amended appeal documentation.
This website provides further details of these amendments and background of the proposals.
Comments on the scheme amendments can be provided by 23rd January 2023.
